L30 Community Pantry

Affordable Food and Community Support in Netherton

The Community Pantry at L30 Community Centre helps local people access affordable food while providing a welcoming place to meet others, build friendships and access community support.

Open every Friday, the pantry is designed to help individuals and families make their household budgets go further by offering a wide range of groceries and everyday essentials at significantly reduced prices. Serving residents across Netherton, Bootle and the wider Sefton area, the pantry is completely run by the community, for the community.

Everyone is welcome to attend!

Friday Morning Community Pantry

Every Friday – 10:00am to 12:00pm

The Friday morning Community Pantry continues to support local people facing financial hardship and rising household costs. Visitors can access affordable food while benefiting from a friendly and supportive community environment.

The service is run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to helping local residents. Throughout the year, the team organises fundraising activities and community events to ensure the pantry can continue supporting those who need it most.

Friday Evening Community Pantry

Every Friday – 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Established in June 2023, the Friday evening pantry is run by the community for the community.

Alongside providing access to affordable food, the evening pantry has become a valuable social hub where local people can connect, form friendships and find support. Visitors can also be signposted to other local services and organisations that may be able to offer additional help and advice.

How the Pantry Works

Food items are allocated points, typically 1 or 2 points per item, allowing members to choose products that best meet their needs. The pantry also offers additional items through its community shop at a fraction of normal retail prices. Every penny raised is reinvested directly into the pantry, helping to keep the service running for local residents.

  • £3 = 10 points
  • £6 = 20 points
